RK is also a poet with remarkable visibility in Malayalam literature. His poems often appear in popular periodicals such as Mathrubhumi, Bhashaposhini, Samakalika Malayalam, Kala Kaumudi etc. He is also a researcher on Rudrakshas.
As an author, R. K. Damodaran has four books to his credit of which ‘ADUNAATHANAM (2007)’ is a collection of 32 poems and 'KATHA RAVANEEYAM'
